Yup, she's STILL a living doll! New Lacuna Coil CD out in March 2006!

It was both a nightmare and an eye-opening experience. It's been a week since Joel (the Grand Creator), Karen and myself got totally sunburnt at Raliegh NC's OzzFest. We were there at 9 am, ready for the first band scheduled, Lacuna Coil. Welllllllll...
Their bus broke down, they did not get to play. They arrived too late to play, actually somewhere around 10 AM, and did make appearances at the FYE and Jagermeister autograph tents.

Hats off to the Kern County (GA) Sheriff's Department for a little levity!

I've mentioned before the faces that are sometime seen in the dressing room/backstage areas of the CWF Mid Atlantic shows are the last persons you would expect to meet at an indy show.
The WWE's "Hurricane" Shane Helms learned his craft here in NC and was known by several of the area's indy wrestlers before he ever entered the squared circle. I have probably worked on at least a handfull of shows with him over the years, as he worked on several of the "classic" ACW events before becoming a "WWE SuperStar."
Shane's still good people and not one to drop a name, even though he rubs elbows with many of the wrestlers that America watches on television every week. I tend to occassionally mess with him when I run into him backstage, like asking if he's got intro music...He did a double-take on that one once.

Set the Way Back Machine for 1975 for the very first appearance of soon-to-be rock legends, Kiss.
This photo was taken with a crappy 110 Instamatic camera...

This is a 1958 Chevy Panel truck that my father bought from High Point Laudry and restored into a leisure/hunting vehicle.
This "autumn bronze" babe had a toolbox/stationary bed as well as a fold-down hammock-style bed and could sleep 3 easily. Mmmm I'd love to have that one back...

One of the best all-around entertainers I've ever had the pleasure to work with, the man that give me my first gig in the music business in the mid-seventies, the late great Gary Dixon. His distinctive voice, drum skills and harmonica abilities made him stand out head and shoulders above much of the area's music scene.
In full Hooker costume, Tommy "Sonic" Smith kept a cold (hehe). "Smooth" as he was most widely known as became a guitar virtuoso after being known as a drummer. Then there's the keyboards, the programming and his studio...
The other half of Hooker's rhythm section, bassist Mikey Harris was the practical joker of the group, as well as an avid softball player. Did I mention he is one hell of a bassist too? Gotta love the white Rickenbacker. It's sweet.

One of the absolute hardest Southern rockers ever, the legendary Blackfoot. Seen here at the Greensboro Coliseum, guitarist/vocalist Ricky Medlocke spends much of his time today as the drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd (he was the band's original drummer before they became famous).
I only had the opportunity to see the legendary British rock band Queen once, and luck would have it I was able to witness the Live Killers Tour. Here's the band and their incredible light show in action.
The late Freddie Mercury belts out another gold hit in Greensboro NC. Mercury changed costume 10 or 11 times during the course of the show, and wowed everyone with his vocal gymnastics.

Someone suggested putting a couple of my "old pics" on the site, so here you go! More stuff I dug up for the upcoming Alternative Heritage tribute site that's in the works...
A screen shot from the very first ACW television program produced by Cool Stuff Productions from Collinsville VA. A.J. Michaels and myself were the show's hosts.
This shot of myself with the legend Chief Wahoo McDaniel was backstage at one of the ACW SuperShows from Trinity High School in Trinity NC.
Backstage before his intro, Chief Wahoo McDaniel was flanked by Mr. Fantasy, ACW Promoter Milton Powell, & the HeartBreak Express in Trinity NC. Two of the five guys in this pic are relatives. Hint: Only ONE is in pink tights!
A photo op with the Rock & Roll Express' Ricky Morton at an ACW show at Trinity High School in Trinity NC.
OK, this is NOT a "classic" shot by any means! It's me and Grant "StatMark" Sawyer making our entrance into the CWF Mid Atlantic Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington NC. (Photo Courtesy of Wayne Culler!)

Wrestling is more than a hobby or even a job for me, it's reality. Of course I've had the opportunity to rub elbows with all kinds of "wrestling legends" and the occasional "superstar" along the way, but rarely does a memorable photo op come with the memory.
The best of the best, the man that helped make Big Donnie a household name...Cham Pain! I think this one photo has been cropped and reproduced on so many other websites over the years that people would totally freak to realize I was in it bedside him in the original photo. This one was taken in Asheboro NC at one of Mike Gunner's shows if I remember correctly...
Talk about a photo op and a half. Shortly after coming on board with CWF Mid Atlantic, I began noticing a lot of familiar faces hanging out backstage. Here's the one that didn't get away, myself posed with WWE Superstars Matt Hardy & Lita!

There's an interesting band on the circuit today, an Italian band on a German record label (there has got to be a joke in there somewhere), known as Lacuna Coil. Their interesting blend of male and female lead vocals over a heavy metal backdrop.
If you're into metal (the kind where you can understand lyrics - not the yang yang yang crap some people call metal), you definitely want to check out Lacuna Coil's CD Comalies.
Rating ***** - Five stars!

On the music kick, I happened to find a handful of pictures from my days as lighting designer for the showband Zak. Operating as Infinity Effects, I had the freedom to do whatever I pleased...
Guitarist Tom "Blood" Bowman was a focal point of the show, ripping a Van Halen-influenced barrage of hammer-ons and pull-offs. Hey, this is the early 80's here, what did you expect, Steve Vai?
Bowman rocks center stage at what was once the greatest rock and roll club east of the Mississippi, Tobacco Road. We were fortunate enough to work a regular schedule, every 4-6 weeks, playing at "the Road."
Guitarists Gene "Blood" Vance and Bowman (with drummer Tim "Blood" Sapp in the background) take their bows after another wild encore performance at Tobacco Road in Ronda NC.
